These teams are separated by 4 points in the standings, and with less than a dozen games remaining in the regular season, each contest is important in fixing the final standings and playoff match ups. After tonight, the Tigers have just 10 games left in the regular season. The next six games will be against teams from BC. starting Saturday when the Kelowna Rockets are the visitors to the ArenaThe Medicine Hat College Rattler Women's basketball team will play the Nait Ooks tonight, in a single game qualification game for the ACAC post season playoffs. The game is being played at a neutral site at Mount Royal in Calgary. A win, and the Rattlers would then play Mount Royal in a best of 3 first round playoff series. A loss, and the season is over. The men's basketball team is in Edmonton where it will open it's quarter final series tomorrow against Nait The Medicine Hat College gym is busy this weekend as the women host the ACAC ladies volleyball championship tournament. The host Rattlers will open the event Friday night at 8 pm at the College gym Kathy Wills of Medicine Hat will be taking her monster truck to Vegas next month. Her truck will be on display at the World Jam Finals in Las Vegas starting March 23rd. It's her sixth trip to this event The Edmonton Oilers erupted for four unanswered goals in the second period to stun the Calgary Flames 6-1. Calgary had dominated their provincial rivals heading into the game, winning 10 straight on home ice against the Oilers. Goalie Ondrej Pavelec made 50 saves but the Winnipeg Jets still lost 5-4 to Philadelphia in overtime. Meanwhile, Toronto suffered a similar fate. The Maple Leafs forced overtime when Phil Kessel scored in the final minute of regulation but lost 4-3 to New Jersey Mike Fisher was still battling the flu before the game, but the Nashville forward looked locked in against Vancouver. Fisher scored and added two assists as the Predators beat the Canucks 3-1. In Montreal, Carey Price stopped 33 shots but the Canadiens' offence failed him in a 3-nothing loss to Dallas In other N-H-L action, Phoenix clawed back from a 3-nothing deficit to beat Los Angeles 5-4 in a shootout. Chicago held off Detroit 2-1, Tampa Bay used an early lead to defeat Anaheim 3-2 and Columbus scored four goals in the first period to beat San Jose 6-3. Buffalo edged the New York Islanders 2-1, and Pittsburgh blanked the Rangers 2-nothing The Washington Capitals look to turn around their woeful road record when they visit Ottawa tonight. The Caps have lost 20 of 30 away games and are coming off a 5-0 loss in Carolina. Ottawa, meanwhile, is 4-0-1 in its last five outings. There are two other games: Boston at St. Louis and Los Angeles at Colorado There's a three-way tie atop the standings at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Canada's Amber Holland's, B.C.'s Kelly Scott and Manitoba's Jennifer Jones are all 5-2 going into today's play in Red Deer.
