Rhonda Carlson

RHONDA CARLSON


A Saskatchewan girl, Rhonda has made educational stops in Quebec, Saskatoon and in Calgary.  She's worked at a number of places but counts Tokyo, Japan, as one of the highlights.  She currently anchors and produces our nightly newscast.  When she's off the air, you can find her chasing her three children around to way too many activities to count or volunteering for a number of different organizations.  In her spare time, Rhonda catches as many Tigers' games as possible.

LIAM NIXON

Liam Nixon
A Calgary native, Liam graduated from the Broadcasting program at Mount Royal College in 2007. During his studies, he broadcasted for the Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League and the Calgary Canucks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. A month aftergraduation, he moved to Medicine Hat to begin his career at CHAT TV.

After a brief stint in the news department, he followed his true calling into the world of sports. He's a converted Tigers fan, and will continue to cheer for his beloved Flames and Stamps. When he's not behind the desk, Liam can be found on the golf course, riding his bike, reading a good book, or enjoying quality downtime at home with his wife Jessica.
Rylee Carlson

RYLEE CARLSON


Rylee was born in Nelson, B.C, and primarily grew up in Calgary, Alberta, where she graduated from the broadcasting program Mount Royal College.

After a brief stint in the documentary production world, Rylee made the move to CHAT Television here in the Hat. When she's not at work, Rylee is a big fan of golf, waterskiing and other summer sports. She also enjoys spending time with her family, including three fabulous sisters, and friends.

BOB RIDLEY

Shortly after arriving on the Chat scene, the Medicine Hat Tigers joined the Western hockey league and the result saw Bob becoming the play by play broadcaster, a job that he has held ever since.  Bob has broadcast all games but one and has witnessed the team winning five championships and two memorial cup championships, no doubt those trips to the memorial cup and broadcasting at that high level were a highlight of his career.

This Drumheller native graduated from the Radio and TV journalism program at Mount Royal College which led to him eventually coming back to Medicine Hat.

Bob Ridley

While enjoying covering all sports, Bob has played hockey, baseball, most racquet sports and was a member of the Alberta Canoe team for two years in the early ‘70’s.

Other career highlights for Bob came when he won the Civic Recognition sports award in 1995.  He was also named to the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame in 2000.  Then in 2005, won the Alberta Centennial award and more recently, two years ago, was the recipient of the RTNDA News Directors award.

Bob is married to wife Deb and has three children.  Son Bob is a dentist and lives in Edmonton and his two daughters live and have careers in Medicine Hat.

Kyle Bakx is the municipal affairs reporter for CHAT News covering politics, business and other issues of interest to Hatters. Outside of reporting, Kyle has a strong passion for traveling and being in the great outdoors. He also enjoys athletics of all nature -- including being an active triathlete.

SCOTT CUNNINGHAM


Scott is a tried and true Albertan. Born and raised in Calgary, he attended Western Canada High School before studying Broadcasting at Mount Royal Collage. He now  splits his time half in the CHAT Television news room as the health beat reporter, and half anchoring weekend radio news on Chat, and MY96. When he's not reporting, he is probably in the mountains either biking, hiking or snowboarding.

 

Jeremy Hunka

JEREMY HUNKA


Before his time at CHAT Television, Jeremy worked as a DJ and sports reporter in Calgary.  More recently, Jeremy spent three months in the Democratic Republic of Congo, producing documentaries for a Congolese radio/TV station and a Canadian humanitarian organization. Being a sports guy he always enjoys swinging a club, bat, or stick, but also enjoys drama, writing, and the great outdoors.

INA SIDHU


Ina started her career in television as a junior writer/producer at an entertainment production company in Calgary. She then made the switch to news, anchoring at an all-news radio station in Calgary before returning to television and joining the team at CHAT.

Ina has a degree in Communications Studies from the University of Calgary. She has also graduated from SAITs Broadcast News Program.

A Calgary native, Ina has a passion for travel and loves anything Bollywood !
