The Mavericks now take on Swift Current Indians in a playoff series that will start Friday and Saturday in Swift Current.

The Bengals have reportedly worked out a one-year contract worth 2 million (m) dollars U-S with the 36-year-old Owens.

He's expected to arrive for workouts Thursday.

Owens has 1,006 receptions for 14,951 yards and 144 touchdowns in his 14-year career.

He caught 55 passes for 829 yards and five T-D's for Buffalo last season before becoming a free agent.

Former Raiders safety Jack Tatum has died at the age of 61.

The man nicknamed the ``Assassin'' for his bone-jarring tackles died of a heart attack.

Tatum is best known for his hit that paralysed Darryl Stingley in an NFL pre-season game in 1978.
