When you think of the construction industry -- images of men swinging hammers can easily come to mind. But in Medicine Hat, that portrait is evolving to include the other gender. They are still in the minority, but slowly more women are joining the field in a range of capacities. They're blazing a trail and putting a new face on the male-dominant industry. |
Manyberries 99 Years

For many students, today is the best day of the year, the final day of classes. But in Manyberries, today was much more than that. Just shy of its 100th anniversary Manyberries school held its final day of classes - ever As Jeremy Hunka reports it was a celebration many hoped they'd never have to see.

Child Protection

A local union has taken the lead in protesting a controversial reporting procedure handed down from the province. Child protection workers in Medicine Hat say their job is becoming bogged down with paper work that is not allowing them to keep up with their high risk clients. Scott Cunningham caught up with union representatives and government of Alberta officials and files this report. |
