Consumer confidence is a hot topic these days with recession talk dominating headlines across the country.Here in Medicine Hat, the recession has led to layoffs, but overall, the job picture remains fairly stable. But as reporter Kyle Bakx found out, business owners are now having to react to the change in consumer behaviour.

Green Airport Hangar

Construction of a new hanger at the airport will begin in the next few weeks. The aviation company behind the project -- has plans for the new complex to be the greenest commercial building in all of Medicine Hat. Reporter Kyle Bakx explains.

Drug Driving

IN THE FIGHT AGAINST IMPAIRED DRIVING POLICE OFFICERS HAVE PLENTY OF TOOLS TO DETECT DRUNK DRIVERS. BUT THOSE WHO HIT THE STREETS WHILE ON DRUGS ARE MUCH HARDER TO IDENTIFY. BUT THAT COULD SOON CHANGE. LATER THIS MONTH TWO MEMBERS OF THE MEDICINE HAT POLICE SERVICE WILL HEAD TO EDMONTON FOR A 120 HOUR TRAINING PROGRAM IN DRUG DETECTION. AS JEREMY HUNKA REPORTS THE COURSE IS IN HIGH DEMAND AND WILL GIVE OFFICERS NEW POWERS TO COMBAT IMPAIRED DRIVING
