Influenza Here

 Break out the chicken soup, and hot water bottle because flu season is officially here. The Palliser health region has joined seven other provincial districts who have seen severe cases of influenza this winter. Numbers here at home remain low, though as Scott Cunningham reports - we are only just beginning a long influenza season that generally preys on those who cannot protect themselves

Infrastructure Money

2008 was a year of major construction projects in our city.  In fact, over 50 million dollars was spent on infrastructure.  Now, as city officials start sketching their building plans for this summer -- they received some sobering news.  The federal and provincial governments are only planning to give a fraction of what they gave Medicine Hat last year, for infrastructure.  As reporter Kyle Bakx explains, it's disappointing news for city aldermen.

Regimental Parade

January 14, 2009

A big night for the Medicine Hat Police Service.  Wednesday evening, the force held it's fifth annual regimental parade. But it also marked the changing of the guard for the service.  New Chief Andy McGrogan was officially sworn in, taking over after the passing of former Chief Gord Earl late last year.  Rylee Carlson has the details.
