Firefighter for a Day

Climbing ladders and Aquatic Rescue took centre stage on Friday.  It was Fire Ops 101 -- A.K.A. "Fire Fighter for a day..."  Local politicians were on hand for the fiery simulations, and Jeremy Hunka was there watching it all unfold. And despite the tough competition, he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty.

It was back on April 1st when the Palliser Health Region and 11 other health authorities in Alberta -- disbanded to create one provincial governing body, Alberta Health Services. The provincial authority - more commonly known as the "Super Board " was meant to streamline health care in our province. But has it?  Critics argue that the lines of communication are not what they used to be. Scott Cunningham has the story.

Catholic Board of Education and Bill 44

Ever since it was introduced, school boards across Alberta have lined up in protest. 
It's called Bill 44 -- a new piece of legislation -- requiring teachers to give advance notice of how and when a controversial subject will be taught.  Today, the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education has joined the fight, sending a letter to the Alberta government. As Jeremy Hunka reports, they say the legislation shouldn't apply to them.
