The Canadian dollar lost a bit of its value today as energy prices declined -- but there's no denying its absolute tear in strength. At one point this summer, it was around 76 cents U.S. -- now, it's nearing parity with the U.S. dollar. During the 2008 election campaign, Payne was the final Conservative candidate named in all of Canada -- after winning the Tory nomination.
