Today marks the 57th anniversary of the Medicine Hat Feeding Company, an business that auctions off cattle to the highest bidder. But as Mike Gazzola tells us --- with a struggling market --- most of the bids are coming in much lower than ranchers would like.

Children in Medicine Hat have a whole lot to smile about.  They often have food, shelter and a family untouched by violence. But for one Medicine Hat  newly-wed --- this summer proved to be quite an eye opener. Cody Keith - along with a Medicine Hat church group called "The Connection" - flew to an African region where children are often overlooked. And as Jeremy Hunka reports in part 4 of our series "Smiles to the Somber", because of Cody and his friends, these kids now know they are anything but forgotten

After months of consultations, a public survey and hours of debate, the Ernst and Young report was finally voted on last night at city council.  The controversial report made 5 key recommendations on how to change Medicine Hat's city-owned oil and gas business.  But as Jeremy Hunka reports, almost all of them were voted down.
