Cattle Industry September 11, 2009	Today marks the 57th anniversary of the Medicine Hat Feeding Company, an business that auctions off cattle to the highest bidder. But as Mike Gazzola tells us --- with a struggling market --- most of the bids are coming in much lower than ranchers would like.
Smiles for the Sombre Part Four September 11, 2009	Children in Medicine Hat have a whole lot to smile about. They often have food, shelter and a family untouched by violence. But for one Medicine Hat newly-wed --- this summer proved to be quite an eye opener. Cody Keith - along with a Medicine Hat church group called "The Connection" - flew to an African region where children are often overlooked. And as Jeremy Hunka reports in part 4 of our series "Smiles to the Somber", because of Cody and his friends, these kids now know they are anything but forgotten
Ernst and Young Wrap September 10, 2009	After months of consultations, a public survey and hours of debate, the Ernst and Young report was finally voted on last night at city council. The controversial report made 5 key recommendations on how to change Medicine Hat's city-owned oil and gas business. But as Jeremy Hunka reports, almost all of them were voted down.

But nothing could have prepared Micheleen Devine for what she saw this summer. Still a full fledged student, Micheleen fundraised her way to Africa as a part of a Medicine Hat church group called "The Connection"-- operating medical clinics in a region teaming with disease. Smiles for the Sombre Part Two September 9, 2009	Medicine Hat College Grad Mike Shagin spent the last two years hitting the books, and sweating out his power engineering diploma. But after graduation, Mike was schooled in a very different field this summer. He swapped books for a paint brush--working long hours to help rehabilitate child soldiers in Africa. Chat News followed Mike and a group of 16 other young adults to Uganda this summer. In part two of our series "Smiles to the Somber," Jeremy Hunka reports on why former killers half way around the world, are now singing the praises of Medicine Hat.
Smiles for the Sombre Part One September 8, 2009	To college students, summer is a welcome and much anticipated relief--but to 17 Medicine Hat young adults, this summer was anything but a holiday. A group called "the connection" flew to Africa last month, building houses, delivering medicine - doing whatever they could to help one of the world's most desperate regions. Chat Reporter Jeremy Hunka accompanied this group and this week brings you a five part series called "Smiles to the Somber". In part one today he shows how these ordinary Hatters transformed the life of a Ugandan woman, who had lost nearly everything- including two small children.
City Council September 8, 2009	Just one day before city alderman vote on the future of the city's billion dollar oil and gas business, aldermen didn't mince words on what to expect. A regular city council meeting was held tonight, and though it didn't have any blockbuster items on the agenda, it did give us a glimpse of what's to come tomorrow. Jeremy Hunka reports on what transpired this evening, and how that sets up the Ernst and Young vote tomorrow night.
