Finally Finlay

It cost almost 10 million dollars, but the 100 year-old Finlay bridge was officially re-opened this morning.  It wrapped up nearly 7 months of work, keeping employees busy months longer than previously scheduled.  Jeremy Hunka reports on what kept contractors working, and what lessons the city learned from the lengthy delay.

RELIEF AT A REMARKABLE LEVEL. SINCE WEDNESDAY THE CANADIAN RED CROSS HAS COLLECTED NEARLY 11 MILLION DOLLARS FOR THOSE DEVASTATED BY THE EARTHQUAKE IN HAITI. ON THE HOME FRONT THE STORY IS MUCH THE SAME. AS INA SIDHU REPORTS,  ONE LOCAL GROUP IS NOT SENDING DOLLARS TO THE COUNTRY IN SHAMBLES, HOWEVER ARE PREPARED TO MAKE A MEANINGFUL CONTRIBUTION

A tale of two cities, but only one new arena. In an ironic twist of timing just as Medicine Hat has buried visions of a new event centre, Brooks is opening the doors on theirs. Scott Cunningham toured the new Centennial Regional arena today and files this report.
