Labour Squeeze

More and more job postings are popping up in our area to recruit workers to the oil field. This comes as The Globe and Mail suggests the oil industry is picking up in Alberta -- which could potentially lead to labour shortages, like we experienced in the last boom. As Ina Sidhu reports, while local experts say it's positive to see an increase in activity, it's too soon to say the energy sector is rebounding.

Connaught Dam

Years of erosion have caught up to a water dam in the south end of Medicine Hat -- and it's going to cost over a million dollars to repair.  The Connaught dam, which is located at College Drive -- has deteriorated to the point that immediate work must be done.  That was the message that Alberta Environment gave city officials in a written letter.  Reporter Kyle Bakx has the story.

Olympic Success

The flame is out, and the world has said goodbye to Vancouver. After two weeks of sport and celebration the 21st winter games were drawn to a close Sunday night. And while Canadian athletes may not have owned the podium in these Olympics, they certainly ran away with the gold - 14 to be exact. But as the torch is passed to Sochi, Russia, some experts are wondering if the athletes who have made our country proud will be given the same support when the venue is not at home. Scott Cunningham takes a look.
