Internet giant Google launched its popular Street View service in Medicine Hat this week. It allows people around the world to navigate our streets from their computers. As Kyle Bakx tells us --- Users can “travel” around Medicine Hat by looking at 360-degree photographs of every street.

Money to Medicine. The largest chunk of provincial change in yesterdays budget was aimed at health care. Alberta's new governing body of health was entirely bailed out of debt, plus the most sizable yearly spending increase of any sector fell on health and wellness. Medical care usually take up major dollars in the provincial budget, however in a year when coffers are awash in red ink ---- yesterday's announcement has brought mixed reaction.
College Shut Out
Already facing tuition hikes, students at Medicine Hat College -- could see further spikes in the cost to go to school. Provincial funding was slashed by over a million dollars in yesterday's budget. That's now putting the crunch on the college's budget. And as Kyle Bakx reports, future tuition hikes, are a very real possibility.

In the days leading up to this afternoon's budget announcement -- the Stelmach government was already warning Albertans that there would be lots of cuts and billions of dollars in red Ink. Today -- the Tories handed in a document that will leave our province with a record 4.7 billion-dollar deficit. But as Kyle Bakx tells us --- it also increases spending ----something a whole lot of people were hoping for.

Glanville Property Update
It's sat empty for decades, but city officials are felling optimistic -- hoping a piece of downtown property will see some progress this year. A deadline for developers to submit their proposals passed at the end of January. It's brought a level of excitement to city hall -- But as Kyle Bakx reports, officials aren't saying how many applications were received or what they included.
